That's quite something. I am assuming German side? Do you re-enact early war or late war, or both? Some of that equipment can be expensive, I know this after internet window shopping. Currently I have my eye on a reproduction M1916 stahlhelm.
In the German military, there are 3 impressions, early, middle and late war.if you do late war you can still wear the 1907 rock. I would advise against the repro M16 stahlhelms. They are too flat in the front.
But as far as re-enacting goes, WWI is the cheapest. If you are average size, you can get everything off the rack and just throw down 1,000 bucks before you buy a GEW98. But, you can buy some good GEW98's for under 400 bucks.
Yes, I'm German, 1./IR23, 12th Division, VI Korps. There are about 35+ members in our unit.
That's some good information. I think that I may have been to your unit's site before, actually, some time ago. It deserves another looking-over, though. Though I will still likely get the reproduction, as i'm not looking into re-enacting, and I would feel rather guilty buying an original, unless it was surplus.
Yes, I have heard that said rifle is readily available. What I'd really love to have, though, is a Mauser Broom-handle pistol, either working or not. I am not a gun enthusiast by any means, but I do have my favorites.
